I’ll be in Nashville most of next week for the annual Music Biz convention. On Thursday May 18th at 3:45 PM, as part of the Indie Music Forum, I’ll be interviewing Richard Burgess, the CEO if the American Association Of Independent Music (A2IM) live on stage.
______________________________
Currently CEO for the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), Richard James Burgess Ph.D. has produced many gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums.
Burgess has been a major label recording artist and composer with hit records in his own right; was a studio musician of note, and has worked internationally for most major labels as a producer, engineer, re-mixer and manager of artists and producers. He is known for his pioneering work with synthesizers, computers, and sampling; as an inventor of the SDSV drum synthesizer, and for coining the music genre terms EDM and New Romantic.
He was most recently a co-executive producer and project director for Jazz: The Smithsonian Anthology, a seven-year project chronicling more than a century of jazz at Smithsonian Folkways Recordings in Washington DC.
Please join us on Thursday afternoon for what I promise will be a lively conversation. There will be plenty of time for questions.
Also, one of our Skyline Artists Agency clients, Carl Palmer of Emerson Lake & Palmer fame, and his amazing band are part of the opening night all star concert on Monday. (ticket required)
My dance card is pretty full all week, but I hope to see many of you in the hallways and at the truthfully amazing array of sessions.
SEE YOU AT MUSIC BIZ 2017!
