Universal Music Group has named Oana Ruxandra to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy and Partnerships.
Ruxandra will be tasked with developing UMG’s digital strategy in an increasingly important segment of the recorded music ecosystem. She will be based in Santa Monica and report to Michael Nash, UMG’s Executive Vice President of Digital Strategy.
Prior to making the jump to UMG, Ruxandra did a stint as Vice President of Digital Strategy and Business Development at Warner Music Group. Based out of Warners’ New York offices, she had oversight of the company’s strategic partnerships and led the development of the company’s digital offerings as streaming became the single largest revenue source for the label.
Before moving into music Ruxandra worked in finance, most recently leading the quantitative and risk management desk of global fixed income desk at BlackRock Inc.
