The U.S. House Judiciary Committee has asked Spotify for information about its anti-competitive complaint against Apple, according to Reuters. Earlier this year, Spotify filed a formal complaint in the EU alleging that Apple was limiting access to its customers through restrict practices and high app store fees.
Reuters reported that this is the first known instance of the congressional inquiry into Apple talking to an outside party. Spotify reportedly met with the Department of Justice (DOJ) as well as the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Technology Task Force.
One of Spotify’s biggest complaints against Apple was nullified this morning when the streamer took advantage of new Apple Siri features to launch “play on Spotify” voice control from all iOS 13 powered devices.
