This Week’s YouTube Music Charts: Ariana Grande, Mariah Cary and More

YouTube-icon-full_colorThis week’s YouTube Music Charts finds Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next’  at #1 on the Global Charts, the Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez collaboration crossed 2 billion views and Christmas classics are climbing the charts.

Highlights:

  • After its record breaking debut, Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” lands the #1 on the Global Top Songs and charts in over 20 countries and territories, including the U.S., the U.K., the Netherlands, New Zealand and South Africa. The video earned over 55M views within 24 hours of its release, setting a new YouTube record. Ariana Grande also soars to #1 on the Global Top Artist chart.
  • Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” jumps 25 spots on the Global Top Songs chart, landing #15 this week. Daily views on the music video during the charts period reached as high as 3 million.
  • It’s not the only holiday tune to hit the charts: Idina Menzel’s wintery ballad “Let It Go,” from Disney’s Frozen, reaches #87 on the Global Top Songs chart, Pentatonix’s “Little Drummer Boy” lands #62 on the US Top Music Videos chart and Wham!’s “Last Christmas”hits #51 on the Global Top Music Videos.
  • Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson’s collaboration “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” debuts at #37 on the Global Top Music Videos chart and #24 on the US Top Music Videos chart.
  • Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez’s video for their hit “We Don’t Talk Anymore” recently surpassed the 2 billion view mark, becoming one of less than 30 music videos to reach the milestone.
  • After surpassing 500M views, Blackpink’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” has maintained its position at #6 on the Global Top Songs chart. Blackpink are now the only k-pop girl group with a video surpassing 500M views, and the fastest K-pop group to ever reach the milestone. They are currently #26 on the Global Top Artists chart.
