Independent music distributor Symphonic will host its first Music Industry Sessions in Puerto Rico next month. The series is aimed at artists, producers, and singer-songwriters from the indie music community.
A VIP event, PRO Music Industry Sessions, for established music industry professionals will be held on Friday, February 22nd at the new Santurcia Hotel and Bar. The next day, the Music Industry Sessions will be held at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.
The panels will feature professionals in digital music services, A & R, marketing companies, music producers, and record label executives. Panelists will include staff members from Pandora, SiriusXM, Latin Alternative Music Conference, StageBoom, and more.
“We feel that as Latinos and as a company composed of Puerto Ricans, we have a responsibility to be present in this market.” said Janette Berrios, Director of Corporate Marketing for Symphonic on the importance of bringing this event to Puerto Rico. “We’re proud and passionate about this explosion of music with a wealth of genres and subgenres that’s coming from the island. We believe there’s an incredible potential here that has not yet been fulfilled.”
The educational event will be followed with a live music showcase, Symphonic Live, at La Respuesta in Santurce. The showcase will include independent artists like Calma Carmona, Andrea Cruz, Los Walters, Rafa Pabon, and Nutopia.
Berrios added, “Talent, creativity, culture and the spirit of progress and work are here in Puerto Rico; we simply want to give the tools and platform to this community to take control of their music and their destiny.”
