Legendary alt-rock, pop and punk record label Sub-Pop announced that they are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a free live music festival. Dubbed SPF30, the free event will be held on August 11th, 2018 at Alki Beach in West Seattle.
While some details about the event, including the lineup, are still pending, SPF30 will feature live music, a ‘record fair-type event’, food, locally produced alcohol and a host of nonprofit organizations.
Sub-Pop held their 20th anniversary back in the dark days of 2008 with a two-day music festival that included performances by the likes of Fleet Foxes, Flight of the Conchords, Comets on Fire, Beachwood Sparks, Iron & Wine and others.
The label has served as a home to a veritable who’s who of modern indie rock and punk music with a focus on the Seattle scene, including Soundgarden, Fleet Foxes, Sleater Kinney, The Reverend Horton Heat, The Shins and numerous others.
