Spotify is rolling out a feature that allows users to block an artist, including their automatically curated playlists like Discover Weekly and Daily Mix. The move comes as calls increase to #MuteRKelly and ban artists accused of sexual misconduct and hate speech.
The new option removes blocked music from the users personal Spotify library, playlists, automatically curated playlists, charts and radio. The user can’t play any music by the artist, unless they unblock them.
It can be accessed via the menu on every Artist’s page. Then click on “Don’t play this artist” to activate the mute feature.
Thurrott first spotted the much requested feature which Spotify has been testing for months, but appears to now be making available to all users.
