As anticipated, Spotify has launched in 13 new markets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), including United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian Territories and Egypt. That brings Spotify’s total markets to 78 including neighboring Israel , which launched in March.
Spotify launches in MENA as both a free and a paid service withy a full offering of international and local music, as well as, locally curated playlists including Today’s Top Arabic Hits, Oriental Chill Vibes and Arabic EDM.
As we reported last week, the monthly price in MENA is just above $5, half the price of Spotify in the U.S and Europe. This despite several of the launch countries being among the richest in the world.
