Sony Corporation has revealed its financial statements and consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. In all of Sony’s business endeavors, consolidated sales increased 10% compared to the previous fiscal year which marks a record high.
In its fourth quarter ended March 31, 2022, streaming revenue increased 32% year-on-year in recorded music and 36% year-on-year in music publishing.
On the recorded music front, the company continues to strengthen its ability to discover and nurture artists, expand its roster and acquire new labels such as Alamo Records. This can be seen as the company averaged 36 songs in Spotifyʼs weekly Global Top 100 songs in the 2021 fiscal year.
