Just in time for holiday debauchery, music streamer Deezer has teamed with sex expert Tracey Cox to dissect the coupling of music and sex in America. Their aptly titled “Aphro-Deezer-ac Report’ reveals how music plays a key role in sex and how people use music to find their “bedroom flow.”

Global music streamer Deezer and sex, body language and relationships expert Tracey Cox have joined to take look at music in the bedroom.
Listening to music while having sex improves the experience, according to the study; with 30% feeling it makes them more aroused and 25% saying it makes sex “better.” 15% were just happy that music playing made things less awkward.
“Music is a powerful, potent aphrodisiac, so I’m not surprised so many Americans find it improves their sexual experiences,” said Cox. “Listening to music causes our brain to flood with dopamine, the pleasure hormone. The same thing happens when we’re getting intimate, so it effectively puts our bodies ‘in the mood.’”
Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” is still a key music + sex driver, with the long-passed singer notching nearly nine million plays worldwide last year on Deezer. 78% of Deezer Premium subscribers chose Gaye to set the mood in the bedroom. He also claimed the number one spot for voices most likely to get Americans in the mood, securing 27% of the vote, more than Lionel Richie (18%) and Luther Vandross (16%). See the full list below.
R&B, with nearly 30%, was the most popular bedroom genre, and Rock (20%) and Pop (15%) followed on the turn-on list.
Heavy Metal and Rap rated as the biggest turn-offs (45% each). “There’s scientific proof music is a mood enhancer in the bedroom – but the wrong song can have the opposite effect,” said Cox. Kanye West and Justin Bieber were cited by 50% of respondents as particular bedroom turn offs.
