We’re delighted to announce that we’ve teamed up with legendary London club fabric, as well as the Mayor of London and #SoundsLikeLondon, to bring you Level Up: A Night to Support Women In Music. Apply to signup free using that link before 18 June. We know that music production has a reputation as a boys club and this is part of our ongoing commitment to trying to negate that and make more women feel comfortable and excited to enter the industry. Take a look at the video below, of our recent day of workshops for International Women’s Day, for a taste of what’s to come. If we can emulate the energy and good vibe from that day we will be delighted. Remember you can study everything examined at Level Up with us. take a look at our full list of courses here.
On the night, there will be a listening and feedback session on the mighty room one system by Martin Audio. This will be held by Nick Halkes, founder of XL Recordings and manager of The Prodigy, Bad Company UK, Stanton Warriors and One Bit. We’ve got to know Nick recently through his fantastic masterclass he gave here at Point Blank recently, and we can say with some confidence that he is one of the most genuinely enthusiastic and knowledgeable music people we have ever met, take a look at the most recent part of that masterclass below.
There will also be a modular synthesis workshop with London Modular Alliance, London’s premiere modular shop in Hackney Wick. The trio operates as a live act as well, bringing modular wizardry to stages across London and beyond. You can also check out a Native Instruments Maschine workshop by our very own Eve Horne. She also works closely with native Instruments so you can be sure she knows her way around a Maschine.
Feeling inspired? Why not check out some of our degree programmes. We’ve just launched the BA (Hons) in Music Production and DJ Practice, and the BA (Hons) in Music Industry Management, to go with our original BA (Hons) in Music Production and Sound Engineering, which includes modules in both Maschine and Modular Synthesis. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
