Welcome to the first installment of PBLA Staff Songs, a collection of tracks that our instructors have written, produced, mixed, or otherwise been a part of.
This compilation contains a diverse mix of genres with something for everyone. From power pop to industrial to lofi hip-hop, you’re sure to find something new to enjoy.
Read on for a few playlist highlights.
‘Eulogy For A Rock Band’ by Weezer was co-written by Chief Academic Officer and current Vocal Musicianship instructor Daniel Brummel. The catchy pop-rock track by this iconic group tells the story of a rock band’s success and ultimate decline in popularity.
‘Spread Lurve’ by POOLS is a chill yet funky instrumental track that’s perfect for adding summery LA vibes to your day, no matter what season or location you’re actually in. POOLS consists of Thee Mike B and PBLA instructor DJ Morse Code.
‘Daze’ by The Orb & PBLA Instructor David Harrow is a dark electronic remix with lots of ambient synths and elements of house music. Turn it up loud and transport yourself to the London rave scene.
