Martina McBride is returning to her roots on her father Daryl Schiff‘s new record, Satisfied, available everywhere now. McBride produced the new project, which also features her brother Marty Schiff.
The father-daughter duo, along with Marty, came together for the 15-song collection, which includes two covers from Martina, three by Marty, and family harmonies throughout.
Daryl has been a lifelong musician who started the family band, The Schiffters, where Martina and Marty first learned to play and sing.
“I chose the songs that I could relate to from the things that have happened in my life,” says Daryl. “You need to be able to relate to and feel the song to sing it with emotion.”
“Getting to record this album with my dad after hearing him sing literally for my whole life was such a blessing,” adds McBride. “Singing with my brother, hearing our voices blend with his, is really special. Dad sings in such an authentic way. You cannot teach or fake the kind of country singing he does. It comes from a lifetime of loving it and all of the influences he has heard all of his life. The emotion he conveys isn’t some singer’s ‘trick.’ It is real. There were several times I teared up hearing him sing in the studio. I’m so grateful for this musical treasure we will have forever and excited to share it with my fans.”
McBride has been busy this holiday season on the road during her annual “Joy of Christmas Tour.” In 2021, the multi-Platinum entertainer also celebrated thirty years in the industry and her own exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
