‘You Say’ singer Lauren Daigle took top honors at the 50th Annual Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards earlier this week, taking home trophies for artist of the year, song of the year and pop/contemporary album of the year. This marks the second time the 28-year-old singer has won the Dove artist of the year award in just three years.
Daigle’s 2018 album “Look Up Child,” landed at #3 on the Billboard 200, and has had a record-breaking run on the Christian Albums chart.
Jason Ingram, who served as a producer and songwriter on Daigle’s “Look Up Child” also took home four awards, including non-artist songwriter of the year, and team producer of the year along with Paul Mabury.
Gaither Vocal Band took home the prize for southern gospel artist of the year, and Kirk Franklin took top honors for gospel artist of the year.
The Gospel Music Association Dove Awards were held at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville and presenters and performers for the gala event included longtime gospel legends including Bill Gaither, Shirley Caesar, and Pat Boone.
