According to the Wall Street Journal, Hubbard was one of two senior execs leaving the social media company. Jana Messerschmidt, a veteran executive who was in charge of global business development, is also departing from her post.

Hubbard joined Twitter in 2013 and most served as the company’s interim media head following a shakeup of Twitter’s executive suite earlier at the beginning of 2016.

A source close to the matter told the WSJ that Hubbard had been planning to exit the company for several months. Hubbard’s exit comes amidst a time of challenge for Twitter, which is facing stalled user growth and slower growth in the company’s advertising revenue. As well, the company has seen an outflow of key personnel in recent months.

Twitter’s shares, which were up slightly on Friday, are down my more than 50 percent in the past year.
