During his intro to “Bored in the USA”, J. Tillman aka Father John Misty told the crowd that he had been offered a quarter of a million dollars to cover Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” for an ad for restaurant chain Chipotle.

At this weekend’s Newport Folk Festival and just before he sang “Bored in the USA”, J. Tillman, better know as Father John Misty, told the audience that he had been offered a quarter of a million dollars to cover the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” for an ad for fast food chain Chipotle.
“Yep, that’s my life,” Father John told the crowd. “I was like, ‘Cool, so then I can just buy like two Cadillacs and just crash them together. I don’t want your fucking burrito money… the underclass in this country is going to produce a real folk hero that’s going to inspire a real revolution,” he added, “and all of us are gonna have to die.”

Chipotle responded with a special Father John Misty themed menu.
