Facebook is now advertising 7 new music related positions “ensure a comprehensive music strategy.” They will join other recent hires and former YouTube and Google Play’s Director Of Music Partnerships’ Tamara Hrivnak who has been hired to lead Facebook’s global music initiatives.
Many of the new jobs advertised to shape Facebook’s “comprehensive music strategy” are in music publishing.
Despite being a pivotal place for music discovery, sharing and marketing, Facebook has been without a real music strategy. But they have been ramping up staff to serve the industry in recent weeks. So far, the public focus has been on creating a better Content ID system.
