Online music publication Drowned In Sound, has stopped publishing after almost 20 years. Some writers are waiting for payment, according to multiple sources, though UK-based founder and editor Sean Adams says that previously commissioned pieces will still be honored and published on the site’s Medium blog.
The site’s archives and popular message boards will remain available thanks to donations from its readers.
Dozens of music blogs and magazines have suffered a similar fate in recent years, but Adams promises some kind of a comeback:
“I’m going to take make a few changes and take some time to get things stable again financially, and then attempt to do some special activity as we enter our 20th year next year. Thanks again for reading, sharing, indulging, exploring, engaging, and everything else.”
