Daytrotter has closed its Davenport Iowa venue space and recording studio and will relocate to Atlanta. The move will put Daytrotter closer to Paste Magazine, the online publication that hosts Daytrotter’s catalog of more than 7,000 live music sessions. The Atlanta studio will be open by July 1.
The lease on the Davenport studio expired at the end of March and the company was no longer making a profit hosting live shows there, Matt Lundberg, a senior vice president of Daytrotter and Paste owner Wolfgang’s Vault told the Quad-City Times.
Daytrotter alumni include Wilco, The National, Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver, Alabama Shakes and Macy Gray.
