Apple is set to launch Apple TV+ on November 1st, priced at $4.99 (£4.99) per month. Bundling Apple Music with Apple TV+ and perhaps other Apple services at a discount would make marketing sense for Apple.
Customers who purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod touch starting will get already one free year of Apple TV+.
But talks with the major record labels to offer a discounted bundle with music are not going well. According to an article published in the Financial Times, “some record labels (are) nervous about the prospect of offering their music for a lower price.”
According to FT, label execs ‘fear that margins may be hurt if Apple undercuts the $10 monthly price’ charged by Apple and other music streaming services.
