Troy Carter’s new music & technology company, Q&A has named industry veterans Clarissa Reformina as Vice President of Creator Services, Ray Kurzeka as Vice President of Digital Strategy and Austin Hurwitz as Vice President of Music Operations.
In conjunction with founders Troy Carter (ex-Spotify, Atom Factory), J. Erving (Human Re Sources, Atom Factory) and Suzy Ryoo (Atom Factory, OMD), these appointments come on the heels of the recent hires of Tim Luckow (Stem, GHouse) as Chief Product Officer, Phillip Eubanks (Spotify) as Chief Operating Officer and Marc Hemeon (Facebook, YouTube) as Head of Design.
Prior to joining Q&A, Reformina spent over 10 years within the talent agency world, first at CAA and most recently, at Paradigm where she created high impact opportunities around music releases to increase exposure for artists. “Troy has created Q&A at a time where technology is the epicenter of music consumption and reach for artists,” says Clarissa Reformina. “I am excited to join the new ecosystem of Q&A working alongside artists and building unique and creative ways to grow their business worldwide.”
Kurzeka joins Q&A from Universal where he was most recently leading the commercial team at Caroline/Capitol overseeing a vast roster of artists and labels, notching five #1 albums and breaking some of the top streaming artists in Pop and Hip-Hop including Halsey, Migos, XXXTENTACION, Lil Baby, NF, Trippie Redd among others. “It’s an incredible opportunity to join Q&A in these early stages and bring my expertise to the table to help Troy, J, and the Q&A team build the company into a major player in the business. I have always admired their approach to business and artist development, and they have already curated a roster of very talented creators,” says Ray Kurzeka. “That element, combined with the forward-thinking approach of tech integration and artist entrepreneurship will prove to be successful in the ever-changing landscape of the music business.”
Hurwitz spent the last five years as the Content Acquisitions Manager for Amazon Music. “I am thrilled to be joining the Q&A team during an exciting time of growth in the music industry,” says Austin Hurwitz. “Alongside my colleagues, I look forward to building an ecosystem to better help artists flourish in this ever-changing landscape.”
