Listen To The New Danger Mouse Produced Iggy Pop Track ‘Gold’
Iggy Pop and Danger Mouse have shared a replacement song, “Gold,” created for the future Matthew McConaughey pic of identical name. The track was co-written with the film’s director, Stephen Gaghan, and musician Daniel Pemberton. Hear it below. “Gold” was appointive for Best Original Song at this year’s Golden Globes however lost to “City of Stars” from La La Land.
Previously, Iggy and Danger Mouse did a song along for the album Dark Night of the Soul.
Gold is a 2016 American crime adventure film directed by Stephen Gaghan and written by Gaghan, Patrick Massett and John Zinman. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Édgar Ramírez, Bryce Dallas Howard, Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell, Craig T. Nelson, Stacy Keach and Bruce Greenwood. It is based on the true story of the 1993 Bre-X mining scandal, when a massive gold deposit was supposedly discovered in the jungles of Indonesia.
Principal photography began on June 29, 2015, in New York City, New Mexico and Thailand. The film is set to release in the United States on January 27, 2017. The film has also received a Golden Globe Award nomination for its original song, “Gold”.
