Travis Denning’s Sophomore Set, ‘Dirt Road Down,’ Set For August

Travis Denning is set to drop his new six-song sophomore collection Dirt Road Down on Aug. 6. The Mercury Nashville recording artist shared a new track from the collection, “Jack And Coke,” which combines Denning’s favorite cocktail with a nursery-rhyme setup. The new project also includes previously-released tracks “Call It Country” and Denning’s current single “ABBY” which has over 27 million streams to date.

Dirt Road Down also includes three new tracks co-written by Denning and produced by Jeremy Stover that contain a uniquely reverent view of small-town life and explore what makes Denning tick. “Grew Up With a Truck” is a dose of feel-good country nostalgia, while “I Went Fishing” allows listeners to get to know the guy behind the guitar. The project’s title track also explores Denning’s love of a twisted, pure-country lyric. Among the writers contributing to the project are Thomas Archer, Jessi Alexander, Chase McGill, and Ashley Gorley.

“It’s kind of cheesy, but to me this release makes me feel like we’ve gone a little further down the path of who I am – which I like to think is a dirt road, for sure,” Denning says of the upcoming release. “I hope those listening get a piece of me they were expecting with this project, and I hope they get a piece of me that they weren’t, too.”

Ahead of the release, Denning is gearing up to hit the road as support on Brothers Osborne’s We’re Not For Everyone Tour starting in Philadelphia on July 29.
