One reason why aspiring musicians choose Point Blank to help them develop their skills and prepare them for a career in the music industry is due to our real-world industry connections. Just one of the experts we have onboard is Kwame Kwaten, our in-house A&R and Lead Student Advisor who boasts an impressive history.
Kwame Kwaten is a music industry mogul, to say the least. His fruitful career in the music business has seen him thrive as an artist having had a #1 in the dance chart with his band D Influence, signed to Atlantic Records, been shortlisted for a Mercury Prize and supported the likes of Michael Jackson, Prince and James Brown.
He’s acted as an artist manager managing the successful Laura Mvula and Shola Ama as well as succeeded in the business side of the industry working as Senior A&R at Believe Digital, a The BRIT Trust trustee and running his own agencies Ferocious Talent (which helps aspiring artists with management, consultancy, development, in-house production and more) and Gurushack.
His most recent venture, Gurushack, champions independent artists, offering flexible and ‘pay only for what you need’ access to top vetted music industry professionals. Each expert (or guru as they call them) is a champion of independent artists and someone the Gurushack team (with 40+ years combined experience) has worked with previously (so they can really vouch for their work). Gurushack allows artists to build their team on their terms, whilst retaining their rights. If you’re looking for a free consultation from the innovative Gurushack, head here.
