Justin Bieber has become the first artist to hit 100 million streams for one song, in the U.K.
The hit song ‘Sorry’, performed by Justin Bieber and produced by Blood and Skrillex is now the most-streamed song in the U.K. since records started. Sorry spent its first two weeks at the top of the Official charts back in October, and has been present on the Official Charts since.
Martin Talbot, CEO of Official Charts Company, says…
”For Sorry to become the first track in Official Chart history to pass the 100 million mark is a record which can never be taken away from Justin. It is, perhaps, the four-minute mile of music streaming. A remarkable feat, a first which will be Justin’s record forever.”
Sorry is one of three songs on Bieber’s Purpose album that has hit number 1 – The songs ‘What Do You Mean’ and ‘Love Yourself’ are also nearly hitting the 100 million stream mark, with predictions that they will surpass this milestone next week. Bieber has also been awarded with an Official Chart Record Breaker Award for being the first artist to have all three of their songs claim the top 3 spots on the UK singles chart.
