[UPDATED] First day sales for Taylor Swift’s new album “Reputation” topped 717,000, according to data gathered by BuzzAngle Music. “She’s got a shot at 1.5M for the week given this,” says BuzzAngle CEO Jim Ledestri. That makes it the biggest first day release so far in 2017.
No Streaming Stats Included
Swift’s debut is even more impressive since, while four singles from the new release are on Spotify, Apple Music and other streamers, the full “Reputation” album has been withheld. this is a pure album sales number. Streamers are also generally a day or two behind in reporting the data; so it will likely be Monday before BuzzAngle will included streams into their project (total consumption) number.
Taylor Swift’s last full album release, 19989, sold just under 1.3 million copies in the United Sates during its 2014 release week.
Tour Planned
Swift is also reportedly planning a tour announcement around her 28th birthday on December 13th. Her last tour in 2015 grossed between 250 million and 300 million.
