The DDJ-400 is packed with features to help you comfortably develop your skills, including cue buttons, Beat FX, CDJ-style looping controls and more, coming bundled with Pioneer’s professional performance software, Rekordbox DJ. If you’d like to get to grips with DJing, our London school is sponsored by Pioneer DJ and kitted out with the latest and greatest in studio tech. Check out our full line of DJ courses here.
During the videos, DJ Ravine runs through a number of essential tips, from drop swapping to getting to grips with Rekordbox DJ’s waveform colours and layout. Check out the first line of quick tips here and keep an eye out for the next batch coming soon.
Drop Swapping
Drop swapping is a popular DJ technique used especially within the realms of the trap and dubstep scenes. This works by playing the build-up of another track alongside the build of your main track and swapping it over when it drops. This is perfect for switching between tracks quickly and adding tension to your DJ sets.
Rekordbox DJ Tutorial Pt. 1: Waveform Color
Rekordbox is Pioneer DJ’s own software which helps you arrange your tracks, create playlists and perform your mixes using your laptop and controller. In this quick tip video, DJ Ravine shows you how to change the colour of your track waveforms to RGB to help you get a better understanding of the different sections and elements of the song.
Rekordbox DJ Tutorial Pt. 1: Hide and Show Sections
Hiding and revealing the features on your Rekordbox software is a great way to customise your set up and tailor the experience to suit you best. This will clear up your layout and make it easier to find the features which are most important to you.
London isn’t the only place we can teach you how to become a master behind the decks.
