Back in June we returned to Sonar+D, an element of Barcelona’s premier festival Sonar, to present two masterclasses focused around creating music. This is the second year we have taken part in the festival’s daytime programming, following successful Point Blank sessions last year from course developer Ski Oakenfull and DJ / Producer Richie Hawtin. Sonar+D aims to bring together creativity and technology, with 4,500 professionals, 2,000 participating companies and 30 selected partners from across the globe presenting over the 3 days.
With Point Blank shaping a masterclass focused around creativity and songwriting with Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, as an additional session Point Blank Course Developer Ski Oakenfull hosted a track deconstruction of DJ Shadow’s ‘Mutual Slump’ off his seminal album ‘Endtroducing’. With DJ Shadow performing at Sonar this year, the choice of artist and track was all the more relevant.
