Gunfire at a T.I. concert on Wednesday night left 1 dead and three injured, with one of the injured victims not expected to survive. According to the New York Post, the shooting took place shortly after 10 PM inside of the ballroom at Irving Plaza, with witnesses stating that the incident started with a quarrel backstage.
A 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, officials said, according to CBS New York. Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical condition where one died, according to the New York Post. A woman was reported to have been shot in the leg, but is expected to survive. The fourth victim made their own way to NYU Langone Medical Center with a graze, reports said.
“It was about to go on. We saw, like, two people up on the VIP arguing, and then everybody started running because they heard the shots,” a concertgoer told CBS. “It was terrifying. We just kept running with everybody else because they were running for their lives, so we just started running, and I fell, and I got stomped on a little bit. My shoe came off.”
This is not the first shooting incident at a T.I. concert. His friend and personal assistant Philant Johnson was killed in a shooting during a concert in Cincinnati in 2006.
