SXSW Opens 2018 Showcase Applications, Panel Picker

Sxsw 2018The next SXSW will be held March 9 -18, 2018 in Austin Texas, and today, Monday Hun3e 26th, the festival begins accepting applications for one of the 2000 or so official showcase slots, as well as the panels and sessions the are held throughout the festival.

Today, Monday June 26th, the 2018 Music Festival has opened its Showcase Applications process. Fill out the application on SXSW’s website to be considered by the Music Festival programming team for an official performance at the leading music industry event of the year.

The initial application fee for Showcasing Artist applications will be $35. The early deadline to apply is Friday, September 8. After this deadline, the application fee will be $55. The final application deadline is Friday, October 20.

The SXSW Music Festival presents a great opportunity to network with and perform for industry pros. In 2017, more than 2,000 Showcasing Artists performed at SXSW this past March, with 544 of those acts representing 63 countries outside of the U.S. 

SXSW Panel Picker Now Open

The PanelPicker is a two-step online process that allows the SXSW community to have a significant voice in programming SXSW conference activities inclding presentations, panels, discussions and demonstrations.

STEP 1: encourages the community to enter proposals for daytime conference programming for all SXSW events.

STEP 2: allows the community to browse all of these ideas, leave comments, and vote for what they think are the best fit.

Reading the PanelPicker FAQ will give you important information about SXSW and some tips for creating a proposal.
