After another successful and incredibly fun showcase in Ibiza earlier in the year, the International Music Summit moves on once again to the island of Malta for another edition of IMS College to round out the summer. We’ll be representing in full effect this year with three separate talks and showcases for you to enjoy. DJ Ravine will be hosting a production masterclass from local legend Tenishia, and will also appear himself as part of a panel on submitting your music to labels and A&R. No music conference would be complete without one of our track deconstructions from our Head of Curriculum Ski Oakenfull this time he’ll be tackling Calvin Harris’ One Kiss feat. Dua Lipa. For comprehensive tuition on all of the techniques covered in our deconstructions check out our music production courses here in London. We hope to see you at the summit, and if you’re interested there are still tickets available at the IMS website.
Our chief content creator DJ Ravine will be speaking on a panel and introducing Tenishia
In a slight variation from what is on offer at the International Music Summit in Ibiza, IMS College in Malta places a greater emphasis on education and learning, so all of the panels and sessions contain valuable information for any budding music career or veteran seeking to keep abreast of the latest developments. Along with our involvement, some of the already-announced content at the event includes a ‘future of dance music’ discussion with Mixmag and members of forward-thinking entities like Keep Hush and Netil Radio, as well as ‘how to build a global brand’ with Spanish party behemoth, Elrow.
Our own guest masterclass this year will feature Maltese superstar Tenishia, who for the past 7 years have appeared on DJ Mag’s top 100 DJs in the world list. Initially a duo, Joven Grech has been producing solo under the name since 2016 and continues to play to thousands of dancers in every corner of the globe. He will be introduced by DJ Ravine, who himself will give some insight into sending tracks to labels and A&R so those in attendance can learn to get their music out there more efficiently.
Our supremely talented head of curriculum Ski Oakenfull is also along for the ride, deconstructing Calvin Harris’ massive track featuring Dua Lipa ‘One Kiss’. The track is an undisputed smash, spending more time at the top of the charts in the UK since Rihanna broke pretty much every record with ‘Umbrella’ back in 2007. Ski has previous with a Calvin Harris track, so for an idea of what to expect check out the below deconstruction of ‘Slide’ feat. Frank Ocean & Migos from early in the year.
