PBLA Industry Talks: Writing Platinum Hits with Andrew Goldstein – April 14th 6 pm PT
PBLA’s Industry Talks series of masterclasses features our key music business instructor Marko DeSantis sitting down with some of the music industry’s biggest names to chat about their careers, their approaches to their craft, the skills it takes to achieve success, and more. Marko is also an industry legend in his own right, best known as the lead guitarist for the rock band Sugarcult, with whom he received a RIAA-Certified Gold® Record for their debut album, Start Static. For this Industry Panel session, Marko will be joined by multi-platinum producer Andrew Goldstein.
Andrew Goldstein is an LA-based multi-platinum producer, songwriter, and artist. After entering the music scene with a Billboard-charting album as lead vocalist and guitarist for The Friday Night Boys, he turned his musical genius toward writing and producing, where he’s seen massive success. Andrew has worked with music industry giants John Legend, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, blackbear, All Time Low, Lauv, Kane Brown, Yungblud, and 5 Seconds of Summer. He has co-written and produced numerous hits, most notably the 2019 double-platinum hit single “Hot Girl Bummer” with longtime collaborator, blackbear. Andrew also makes music as a solo artist under the moniker FRND.
In this session, Andrew will walk attendees through his typical songwriting sessions with artists and how this can lead to producing platinum, chart-topping hits. Andrew will share his approach to songwriting, tips he’s gained over the years, his most valued production techniques, and his overall creative process. Drawing upon years of experience and success, Andrew will explain what helped him become a songwriter and producer for some of the biggest names in the industry. Attendees will be given ample opportunity to engage in an open Q&A session for a clear understanding of all the work that helps a successful collab make the leap to becoming a multi-platinum record. This session could help shape the next platinum hit-maker!
