After a long-awaited return, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), which is officially a month away, will be held on June 3-5, 2022 in person at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. Although the convention was previously supposed to be held in January, as it normally is each year, the show was postponed due to concerns with COVID-19 and this will be the first time both Winter and Summer NAMM will be combined into one mega-event.
Originally started in 1901, NAMM has become widely known as the world’s largest music-oriented trade-only event, perfect for the latest innovations in musical technology to make their debut, music enthusiasts to discover a new sound and industry peers to mingle and build new partnerships. A significant amount of brands from all over the globe display their latest products and technologies across music, sound and entertainment technology. The NAMM Show offers the unique opportunity to interact with the creators of these innovations and demo the products yourself. Some of the world’s greatest musicians, engineers, producers and lighting designers walk the show’s halls each year.
With that being said, NAMM notoriously has surprise performances from some of the industry’s best. Here are some surprise performances from previous NAMM shows:
