Live Nation, Hulu Partners For Virtual Reality Concerts

Perhaps in a rush not to be left out, concert promoters and dozens of artists are partnering to to jump on the bandwagon. Live Nation has announced partnerships with both NextVR and Hulu.

LivenationLive Nation is partnering with streaming media service Hulu to present live concerts via virtual reality.

During a presentation at the annual Digitas NewFront conference in New York on Wednesday, Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins announced plans for curated concerts that will be made available via Hulu’s VR App.

Features of the virtual concert experience include virtual backstage access before the show, accompanying the artist as they walk on stage, and a view of the concert from one of the best seats in the house.

“Live Nation is dedicated to bringing the live entertainment experience to fans in new and innovative ways,” Jordan Zachary, Live Nation’s Chief Strategy Officer, said in a statement. “No medium has the potential to bring the magic of a live concert to life more than virtual reality.”

Hulu debuted its virtual reality app in March.  – via Celebrity Access
