Be careful, Kanye. The first rule of negotiations is to never make a threat that the other side was hoping would happen anyway.

Kanye West has threatened to boycott the Grammy Awards if Frank Ocean doesn’t receive nominations for his latest albums Blonde and Endless.
Kanye made the threat during a recent concert at Oracle Arena in Oakland when he paused the music to tell the crowd: “The album I listen to the most this year is Frank Ocean’s album. I’ll tell you this right now, if his album is not nominated in no [sic] categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys. As artists, we’ve got to come together to fight the bullshit.”
He then invited Grammy head Neil Portnow to “come and holla at Ye.”
Despite Kanye’s enthusiasm for Frank Ocean, getting Blonde and Endless Grammy nominations might be challenging. As Billboard noted, neither Blonde nor Endless were even entered for the Grammys before the 30 September deadline, despite being eligible for inclusion.
Moreover, the failure to submit the albums for consideration may have been an intentional decision by Ocean and his management team. A source close to the situation told Billboard for their Oct. 17th article that Ocean’s team ‘was aware of the deadlines and made the decision.’
The Grammys nominations list is due to be revealed on 8 December.
