Australian music tech startup Jaxsta has announced a deal to deliver track and album credits from global independent music licensor Merlin and its thousands of label members. With the deal, Jaxsta now has access to the credits of more than 80% of all global music releases.
Just last month Jaxsta launched its music-credit platform in beta with 100 million credits for 19 million recordings. All three majors, CD Baby, the RIAA, The Recording Academy and The Orchard are among Jaxsta’s early adopters
“Delivering accurate and transparent data reporting is of crucial importance both to Merlin and our growing global membership of independent labels and distributors,” said Merlin CEO Charles Caldas. “This partnership with Jaxsta will help ensure our members’ repertoire is properly accredited, wherever in the world it is accessed and enjoyed.”
