Jack White has responded to news that two women were prevented from kissing during his show at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta on November 2nd.
According to a CBC report, White was performing his hit song “Seven Nation Army” when a member of the venue’s staff confronted a woman named Allyson MacIvor who was attending the concert with her girlfriend.
“I embraced my girlfriend, and some staff member came in between us, and she said, ‘This is not allowed here,’” MacIvor told the publication. “It was very violating and invasive. It’s not something I’d ever imagine experiencing, honestly.”
White went on to say that the news that two women were prevented from kissing at one of his concerts “really disappointed” him, and that during the next show in Calgary he dedicated his song “Love Interruption” to those women and encouraged everyone in the crowd to kiss their loved ones. White finished the post by saying, “Let’s promote love and acceptance wherever and whenever we can.”
