Iggy Azalea has revealed that she is officially an unsigned artist. The Australian performer signed a deal with Island Records back in February of 2018, however, has now parted ways with the label after only nine months.
Azalea broke the news via Twitter over the weekend saying: “I’m officially unsigned !!!! 😝🥂 Wild you spend so long trying to get IN a record deal… never thought I’d be so elated to be OUT of one. now I’m free to release whatever kinda music I like, whenever I’d like woooo! 😈😄💕🤮”

When asked by fans about new music, Azalea explained: “Well still no music this year tho… Iam no where near ready direction wise etc with the stuff I’ve been working on and I don’t wanna jump the gun and have some messy era aesthetically. I’m aiming to be ready to share new music early next year!”

Azalea, who originally signed with Def Jam back in 2013, left the label early this year after reported tensions surfaced following poor sales and her second album Digital Distortion was previously scrapped. Both Def Jam and Island Records are owned by Universal Music Group.
