Ticketmaster is making good on the settlement of a class action lawsuit that affects more than 50 million people. The lawsuit, Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster, was brought against the ticketing giant in 2003, claiming that Ticketmaster was imposing unfair fees for items such as order processing and shipping costs.
On Saturday, Ticketmaster placed “Ticket Codes” in millions of accounts who made purchase transactions on www.ticketmaster.com between October 21, 1999 and February 27, 2013. The codes are redeemable for two tickets for General Admission seating at designated concert events at Live Nation owned or operated venues, subject to availability and limitations.
It’s the last phrase, “availability and limitations,” that has consumer advocates worried. Stay tuned as we track how satisfied consumers are with their ability to get the tickets that they want.
