The Kesha and Dr. Luke battle has been ongoing for the past two years, and the battle continues…
The latest advancement in the case is that Dr. Luke has filed a subpoena which will see Kesha testify on-camera and under oath about the sexual assault and rape allegations. The deposition will reportedly take place in June.
Earlier this month, DMN reported that the case against Sony was dismissed by a judge in Manhattan. The reasoning behind the dismissal included Sony’s attempt to accommodate another producer for Kesha, the jurisdictional limitations that the court carried over the contract itself, and issues related to the statute of limitations.
All of the eight allegations that were made against Dr. Luke except for one were dismissed by the judge. This is the last allegation being considered by the court before the entire case is closed.
Throughout the legal battle, Dr. Luke has denied the allegations and claimed that the Kesha was manufacturing them as part of a ploy to escape her deal with Sony. Dr. Luke and his record label, ‘Kemosable Records,’ then counter-sued Kesha on the grounds of defamation and breach of contract.
The case continues…
