Breaking: Bataclan Officially Re-Opening In November of This Year

Bataclan Announces First New Concert After Terrorist Attack”We will not surrender…”

The Bataclan was bloodied last November of last year, with Islamic militant extremists killing and seriously injuring hundreds of people.  The attacks took place on November 13th at an Eagles of Death Metal show in the theatre.

Since this catastrophic event, The Bataclan hasn’t held a single show.  However, back in February, DMN reported that they had announced plans to reopen by the end of the year.

The prolonged closure of the venue has been a sign of respect for those lost after the incident, not to mention those that were critically injured.  But club co-manager Dominique Revert has defiantly stated that “it will reopen, no question about it. Hearts will be heavy for a few months, a few years, but it will reopen.”

“We will do everything in our power to host new shows before the end of 2016.”

Now, The Bataclan has announced that the next show will be in November this year, with Pete Doherty and Youssou N’Dour performing.  This could be on the anniversary of the attack, or perhaps that date will be strategically avoided.

Currently, renovations of the venue are underway, with no specific reopening date confirmed.
