Point Blank on Pioneer DJ Radio: Alison D

One of the many reasons to learn the craft of DJing at Point Blank is that you get the chance to have your mixes played exclusively on Pioneer DJ Radio alongside the likes of top artists like Slam, Sante and Eats Everything. We get a real kick out of showcasing our students’ talent and seeing it reach an audience of thousands each week. What’s more, because PDJR also features shows from some of the biggest and best labels out there including Cadenza, Get Physical and Defected, you never know who might be listening.

weekend-djPoint Blank’s brand new DJ Studio in our second London facility is sponsored by Pioneer DJ and features all of the latest top-of-the-range kit – including CDJ2000nxs, DJM2000nxs and the DDJ-SX controller

The latest Point Blank student to feature on Pioneer DJ Radio, Alison D finds her inspiration on stage and in her travels. The last few years have seen her tour Europe, playing shows in France, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K to name a few. Having grown up between Paris, London, Munich and Barcelona, Alison’s eclectic taste reflects her diverse upbringing, with her style drawing influence from all four of the major European cities.

Alison’s background in music began at the age of six, when she began to learn classical piano, studying through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music scheme and going on to complete her grade 8 at just 14. After graduating from business school and working as a financial analyst for 3 years, Alison decided to quit to pursue her passion for music full time, enrolling herself onto our Music Production & Sound Engineering Diploma. ‘The courses at Point Blank are great!’ She says. ‘You learn a lot more techniques that you could learn on your own. Great tutors, super feedback. They are always ready to help and really approachable! It was also great to be in such a stimulating environment with like-minded people. Expect me back soon.’

In her short tenure as a full-time DJ, she has already played for a variety of clients, events and festivals around the world and will be over the coming Summer travelling from London to Ibiza, to Bermuda, where she has an upcoming residency. You can keep up with Alison on her website.

Remember – if you think you have what it takes to have a mix featured on Pioneer DJ Radio, submit your 1 Hour mix to louis@pointblankmusicschool.com and you could be the next on our regular slot, with your mix being broadcast twice a week for two weeks.
