It’s not enough just to announce a tour or new release. To get above the noise you need a hook. EDM duo Daft Punk is using a mystery website to tease what appears to be an upcoming tour.

Electronic music duo Daft Punk have launched a mysterious new website that seems to tease an upcoming tour.
The website, alive2017.com, appears initially to offer very little information other than the word ‘Alive’ in the center of the page, however, closer inspection will reveal what appears to be a countdown clock that is almost concealed by the letter I.
A look at the page’s source code confirms that it is indeed a clock, counting down days, hours minutes and seconds, suggesting a reveal date for the tour of October 27th.
Also embedded in the page’s source is a series of coordinates that may indicate potential concert locations with the exception of Sao Paulo, which needed to be corrected to show reflect the southern hemisphere, though admittedly, the show could be set for the desert in Saudi Arabia.

The source code also seemed to contain celestial coordinates (RA 0h 42m 44s Dec 41 16 9), but as of yet, we haven’t been able to puzzle out that clue.
