TuneCore has acquired social media management and analytics tool JustGo. The d.i.y. digital music distributor has already shut down JustGo and relaunched it as Tunecore Social, a free add-on for distribution clients in the U.S., Canada, UK and Australia.
As with JustGo, TuneCore Social offers streamlined posts to Facebook, Twitter, Mixcloud, Soundcloud,YouTube and Instagram plus scheduled posts and analytics. Artists and music marketers using Hootsuite or Buffer, while welcoming the addition of SoundCloud and Mixcloud, may find TuneCore’s offering limited. But for artists used to posting manually from multiple apps, it will be a real timesaver. TuneCore says that they will continue to develop the service, with plans to roll out additional features.
“We talk to our customers every day so we can learn exactly what they want and need to be successful as independent artists,” says Scott Ackerman, CEO of TuneCore. “We know that social media is integral in helping our artists reach a wider audience, so acquiring JustGo was a natural fit.”
Details of the deal were not disclosed. But JustGo, founded in London in 2013, had received $1.7 million in venture funding. Founder and CEO, Justin Golshir will join TuneCore to lead the integration and help expand TuneCore’s artist services product offering. TuneCore was acquired by Believe Digital last year.
“With JustGo our mission has always been to help emerging musicians grow their fan base and get their music heard around the world,” says Justin Golshir. “TuneCore strives to do exactly that through its vast portfolio of artist services and together we can achieve that shared mission on a much larger scale now with TuneCore Social.”
