Folk Alliance International has announced the dates and location of its 2020 conference, just a few weeks before its 2019 gathering in Montreal. The 2020 edition is headed to New Orleans at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on Canal Street Jan. 22-26.
The 2020 conference theme is “The Story of People and Place” and will explore ideas of diversity, inclusion, immigration, intersection and influence. The conference will highlight collaboration and how place impacts shared identities, art, and forms of expression.

Meanwhile, it’s not too late to attend the organization’s 2019 is right around the corner form February 13-17 in Montreal.
The 2019 conference theme, The Spirit of Creativity, will explore the artistic process from inspiration to innovation. The conference hotel, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s bed-in, where they recorded “Give Peace a Chance.”
