Arrows upRevenues from recorded music in the United States grew from $7.5 billion in 2016 to $8.7 billion in 2017.  In 2017, subscription and ad-supported accounted for 65% of U.S. recorded music revenues, up from less than 10% in 2011. 2017 was also the first time in years that physical sales eclipsed download revenues.
