Former ABBA keyboardist Benny Andersson revealed that the group is planning to reunite, at least as digital avatars, for a possible tour in 2019. Andersson teased the news while he was promoting Piano, his latest solo piano album and said the project would feature the form members of ABBA in digital format performing alongside a live band.
“We see each other every now and then, we’ve done a few different things, and now we’ve got a project ahead of us,” he told Swedish newspaper Expressen.
Andersson noted that the project was technically involved and would only come to fruition if it was deemed to be “sharp enough.”
“It will take some time, it’s time-consuming to digitalize a face,” Andersson added. “It’s exciting that it’s so technically advanced. It’s going to be interesting.”
