Musicians and fans rushed to SoundCloud overnight to download music before it’s too late. The rush to protect their SoundCloud favorites comes a week after the music service cut 40% of staff, and on a day when staffers claimed that the company could run out of cash in 50 days, a report that a company spokesperson weakly denied.

Fans of SoundCloud and the musicians that upload and market music there, took to social media yesterday following growing rumors that the music service was quickly running out of cash.
Some expressed their support of the service while other tried to imagine life with SoundCloud. Many went online to encourage their peers to download and backup as much music as possible, as soon as possible, just in case SoundCloud goes under.
